The visitor center in Momjan – House of Castles interprets the cultural heritage of Istrian castles. A house that served as a dairy and post office was renovated and converted into a modern visitor center as part of a project launched by Istria County and the Municipality of Buje. The whole project was completed and supported by the EU through the Italy-Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
Novena designed, created, and produced several multimedia exhibits for the Center's permanent exhibition. On the ground floor of the Center, visitors will immediately see 3D-printed models of castles. The historical presentation of the castles' development is experienced via virtual reality, where the visitor can then find today's remains on an interactive map and learn about different building techniques.
On the middle floor, there is an interactive timeline with a historical presentation of how Istrian families managed the castles.
The first floor is reserved for the presentation of Momjan’s history. Using wall panels and touchscreens, there is an app containing interesting video stories about Momjan and Momjan's families.
